Kyle Ferreira van Leer (he/him/his) is a founding member of the Trumbull Hall Troupe and is the secretary of their board. Kyle went to college at Yale University where he studied Egyptology and was the Artistic Director of Yale Children’s Theater. He then got his master’s degree in secondary mathematics education from Harvard University. Upon graduation, Kyle taught middle school math for 3 years in Chelsea, MA. Following that, he moved to Carmichael, CA where he taught another 5 years of middle school mathematics. He recently returned to the east coast with his husband, Kevin, and son, Greyson. With this move, Kyle transitioned out of the classroom and into a role of K-12 Math Specialist for the public school district in Coventry, CT. As a math educator, Kyle firmly believes in the creation of math classrooms rooted in equitable practices, student thinking, and reflective practice.
In addition to math, Kyle loves to read books, watch all versions of RuPaul’s Drag Race, and solve crosswords.
